Mostly, I am a coffee enthusiast, avid reader, keeper of many animals, and an aspiring, green-thumbed gardener. A native of South Louisiana where I work alongside my brother and sister at our family-owned insurance agency. I love spending my spare time with my husband and daughter on our small homestead in the country.
If I'm not reading a book, I am likely working on writing one. At the end of 2024 I published a children's Christmas book and now I am currently working on books two and three of the Black Horse series.
My love for books goes back to reading Junie B. Jones in elementary school and spending way too much piggy-bank money at the book fair. The idea of writing my own book came much later in life after coming up with the idea on a road trip to Oklahoma.
Of course the answer is because I love books! It's that simple. I love reading and getting lost in a story created by someone who at one point or another, was like me.
Like I said before, the idea of Black Horse came to me during a long road trip from Louisiana to Oklahoma a few years ago, and it blossomed from there. I kept thinking about things like, 'What if there was a book about this' and 'A character like that would be really cool'! Then I thought, maybe I could just write a story about this and that.
I didn't even know I was capable of writing and publishing my own book until I did a little research on self-publishing. Everything on Google made it seem so easy that I got to work on putting those ideas I'd had on paper. Thus The Christmas Pickle and Black Horse were born... and I'm nowhere near done yet.
